The Park Today

We’re out of time. What little hope remained to prevent the worst effects of climate change has evaporated amongst the backdrop of a second Trump presidency and Project 2025.

As we mourn all that could have been saved, it is necessary to find hope elsewhere. Hope that we can survive and thrive through climate-driven crises. Hope that we can demonstrate what a resilient community looks like, and show that love for people, place, and nature endures.

Building stronger communities in a deteriorating world is not merely an aspiration, but a critical next step. A healthy community does not compromise its values out of fear, but instead leverages mutual aid to become ever stronger.

I am building The Park Today to showcase all that is already happening in and around Golden Gate Park, to make these happenings more accessible and visible, and to provide a platform to spark new ways of gathering. It is a love letter, a thank you note, and a message of hope.
